Worship Team 2006 goals
  1. Encourage participation in worship by encouraging volunteers in the areas of lay reader, children’s time, ushering, greeting, sharing musical gifts, becoming acolytes, purchasing flowers for the Lord’s Table, and encouraging every person to state their interests by completing the stewardship form. If you are willing to share your time, gifts, and talents in the worship service, please contact the Worship Committee chairperson, Barb Kirby, 356-1325.
  2. Assist the congregation with a greater variety of meaningful worship experiences by introducing interpretive dance in morning services, by a wider use of visuals through video projection and seasonal display presentations, through the use of a professional signer, storyteller and dramatic presentation, and establishing a contemporary evening service the second Sunday of each month.
  3. Continue to teach, practice, and explain the Creeds, the colors, the traditions of the Christian church, and the significance of each through newsletter articles explaining the holy seasons, the Creeds, the colors, and the traditions, and, the use of bulletin inserts.
  4. Encourage good use of new worship space.
  5. As good stewards, encourage ways to utilize, to the glory of God, the former sanctuary. Explore the possibility of using the former sanctuary as a chapel.
  6. Provide annual training sessions for worship participants through greeter and usher appreciation/training, acolyte training, and letters to lay readers and children’s time leaders of expectations and appreciation.

This committee oversees all paid staff relations. They are responsible hiring staff and they work with the Cabinet and District Superintendent in Pastor assignments. The committee evaluates staff performance and recommendation of raises. These duties require members to uphold the utmost in confidentiality. While these are important responsibilities, the greatest privilege of the committee is to work with the Pastor in having success in his/her ministry while at Red Bank United Methodist Church. The members play an important role in the success of the minister's appointment. The committee depends on the congregation to communicate with them the positive work of all the staff members. The committee also must respond to any problem areas or concerns brought to them. Meetings occur as needed. The PPRC coordinates any pastoral moves that the Conference designates. The smooth transition of the outgoing Pastor and the incoming Pastor sets the tone and reflects the spirit of the congregation
